ETERNITY: We consider the issues covered in this section to be among the more important matters an adult should face. The bottom line is that you are going to die, and you're probably just guessing about what's going to happen afterward. Same here. Even if you're convinced you personally have the right answer, the truth is, you don't know for sure, and won't know until you cross over. (Some humility here goes a long way.) Therefore, we think it's wise to listen to people who claim to have been "to the other side" (especially Jesus). Is this Biblical? Sure. For example, the story in Luke 16 of Lazarus and the rich man is probably a true story (proper names are not normally used in parables). And Paul himself was taken to the "third heaven."
All people are not created equal (except in value), and not all have access to the same information. There are individuals in the world today who know more about life, and what happens after we leave this world, than the rest of us. We all choose what to believe and what to reject as we travel through this life based on our current presuppositions. (Presuppositions change over time ~ you may have noticed this with your own.) These decisions have a profound influence on how our lives turn out, and no two people choose exactly the same truth. This, of course, makes no difference as to what is actually true, but it helps explain, to our own satisfaction anyway, the world we see. To whatever extent possible, we are committed to an open-eyed, glasses-off approach to truth. A certain amount of error, deception and failure is inevitable, but we can mitigate this problem through humility, honesty, and an open mind. Pride, false motives and dogmatism make one blind, a strange phenomena where a person becomes his or her own victim.
There are a number of extremely unusual stories in this section. Two of these stories are about men who were raised from the dead. One of these men we know personally. We think their credibility is solid. See what you think.

THOMAS WELCH: I met Thomas Welch in the early 1970s. He is no longer alive, but his story is too important to go untold. I am convinced the story he tells is true. I do not think Mr. Welch was a liar, or that he was deceived. His story will change your life ~ if you let it.

IAN McCORMICK: The Ian McCormack story is more than a near-death experience. It is a true death experience (life-after-death), and in this respect is in the same category as the Thomas Welch story. Ian is credible. You can write to him yourself if you want to track his life. We do not believe he is lying or deceived, but this is a matter you will need to decide for yourself. I am living my life under the conviction that this story is true.

BILL WIESE: The Bill Wiese story discloses a recent event. It is one of the most graphic visions we have encountered to date. We give it an R-rating, so be warned: This is no children's story. Bill Wiese, as a person, is as credible as they come. In fact, we would never include a story like this on our site if there was even a hint of weirdness in his character. He has walked with Jesus for over three decades, attends a conservative church, is a respectable husband and makes his living selling real estate. If you read and accept his story it will change the way you live. There are many ways Christians interpret the Biblical teaching on Hell. In this vision, Hell is presented as a real place, one that is described literally in the pages of Scripture. Personally, I wish such a place did not exist, but my preferences on the subject are not relevant. What is, is. At this point, I have decided to live my life under the conviction that the story you're about to read is true.

TIME TRAVEL or VISION? Several years ago I heard the amazing tale of the following vision from a credible individual. I’m including it here because it was told me in confidence, and I don’t want the story to become lost in time. The vision is so spectacular that I’ve returned to hear the story retold three times. The person who had the vision does not want his identity known, but I can tell you this much: He is a scientist (mineralogist in geology and curator at a museum), over 60 years old, not known for visionary episodes, and he attends a conservative church. His story stands alone as the most extraordinary supernatural event of his life. In this account I refer to him using the moniker “CJ.”

DENNIS STILWELL: Yesterday (04/19/07) was the first official hike I've taken with Dennis Stilwell, webmaster of www.NWHiker.com. We spent the whole day talking about God, learning new things about my camera and finding wildflowers. He has recently come back to God at the age of 61, after a long, difficult struggle. Two weeks after returning to Jesus, God gave him a spiritual gift: a vision. I'm posting it because I like credible stories like this, and it explains why he is firmly connected in his faith. This vision is also posted on his website. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed hearing Dennis tell it.
