TRUE CHURCH ~ FALSE CHURCH: Finding the "right church" is a foreboding experience. First, there are no perfect churches, because there are no perfect people. On the other hand, where do you draw the line between what's acceptable and what's not? Ultimately, this always comes down to your walk with God. Who are the people He wants you to be involved with? You can find out, but it will take patience and love.
In Eph 4:16, it says, "but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love." The promise is clear: Jesus joins believers together, "joint-by-joint." Our job is to make it easy for Jesus to lead us. This is one of the reasons for this page.
The True Church/False Church chart below is a crisp and concise gauge for evaluating your own church. Bear in mind that this chart represents a continuum. The vast majority of churches will have some components of each operating in their midst. Very few, if any, are completely free of the errors of modern churchianity. It might be a helpful tool for your pastor in assessing how far he has moved away from the practices of early Christianity.
